Summary

We present 103 histollogically confirmed meningiomas of the intracranial midline that were surgically treated in our service. We consider their localization, clinical presentation, radiological appearance, surgical procedure applied and evolution. The mean age of our group is 52 years and 70% of the patients were females. Parasagittal meningiomas predominate and constitute 40% of the whole group. In this localization 62% are situated in the parasagittal middle third. Only one patient had an infratentorial midline meningioma at the level of the cerebellar convexity.

We comment our results in terms of surgical morbidity, mortality and psychophysical outcome, comparing them with those of other large series which include meningiomas situated elsewere intracranially.
