Summary

The authors describe seven cases of meningioma of the lateral ventricle operated between 1975 and 1989. These cases represent 2,4% of the total series of 289 intracranial meningiomas operated during the same periodo The tumors originated from the choroid plexus and were located at the atrium of the lateral ventricle in all cases. In one patient the tumor extended toward the third ventricle through the foramen of Monro. In another case the meningioma was associated with a malignant astrocytoma of the ipsilateral cerebral hemisphere. Two patients had tumoral bleeding. Two patients died following operation, one as a result of surgery and the other because of late medical complications.
