Resumen

Presentamos 3 pacientes con historia de crisis epilépticas de larga evolución y la presencia de cavernomatosis familiar. En 2 de ellos, se resecaron 3 angiomas cavernosos. En esta forma de la enfermedad, los cavernomas son múltiples y diseminados por el cerebro. La indicación quirúrgica debe tomarse en base a la accesibilidad de la lesión y la respuesta al tratamiento médico.

Summary

Three patients with familial cavernous angiomatosis presenting with long lasting variable epilepsy are presented. In two patients, three cavernous angiomas were resected. Familial cerebral cavernous angiomas are often numerous and disseminated in the brain. Neurosurgical treatment should be planned according to the accesibility of the lesions and the response to medical treatment in patients presenting with epilepsy.
