Resumen

El dolor neurogénico es tratado de muy diferentes maneras sin obtener unos resultados satisfactorios. Con el objetivo de evaluar la efectividad de la estimulación eléctrica espinal en el dolor neurogénico, presentamos un estudio realizado en 133 pacientes con diferentes patologías correspondientes al síndrome de dolor neurogénico o dolor por deaferentización. Estos cuadros fueron 57 lumbociatalgias por fibrosis peridural postcirugía, 38 dolores isquémicos, 15 distrofias simpático-reflejas, 11 síndromes de miembro fantasma, 6 pacientes con dolores por espasmos secundarios a paraplejias, 4 angor inestables, 1 arrancamiento de plexo y 1 neuralgia post-herpética. El seguimiento de los resultados varió entre 1 mes (105 pacientes) y 96 meses (2 pacientes). La media del porcentaje de resultados exitosos en el tiempo fluctuó entre un máximo del 100% al mes y un mínimo de 75,3% a los 6 meses.

Summary

With the aim of evaluating the effectiveness of spinal cord stimulation in neurogenic pain, we present a study performed on 133 patients suffering neurogenic or deafferentation pain syndromes. The neurological findings, the characteristics of pain and the results obtained, are discussed, the final result, was excellent in 31% ofthe cases, good in 31 %, poor in 18% and faíl in 18%. The authors conclude that spinal cord stimulation is a good modality treatment for patients with neurogenic pain syndromes.
