Se presenta el caso de un paciente de 59 años de edad que desarrolló un carcinoma anaplásico en el lecho quirúrgico de un craneofaringioma tratado previamente, con características clínicas, radiológicas y patológicas bien diferentes a las del tumor inicial. Este hallazgo es muy raro, y en nuestro conocimiento es el primer caso descrito de aparición de un carcinoma anaplásico en el seno de un craneofaringioma operado tres veces y no irradiado.
This 59-year old patient presented an anaplastic carcinoma in the surgical bed of a previosly treated craniopharyngioma. The clinical, radiological and histological characteristics of the new neoplasm were distinct from those of the original tumor. This presentation is very rare, and to our knowledge, this is the first report of an anaplastic carcinoma developed in the surgical bed of a non irradiated craniopharyngioma.
