Se analizan los datos clínicos y el tratamiento en cuatro casos de hematomas del tronco cerebral secundarios a malformación vascular, angiográficamente oculta. Aparte de la existencia de paresia facial en un caso y la hipoestesia facial en otro, después de la cirugía, los cuatro pacientes hacen vida normal en el momento actual. Recomendamos la extirpación global de estas lesiones en los pacientes que sufren deterioro clínico, bien progresivo, o bien recurrente.
Four cases of brain-stem hematomas secondary to intrinsic vascular malformations are described. The clinical features and surgical treatment are briefly reviewed. Besides of one patient who developed facial paresis and other facial hypostesia after surgery, all four patients are at present leading normal lives. We recommend surgical removal of these lesions in patients showing progressive or recurrent neurological deterioration.
