Se presenta un caso de herida craneocerebral tangencial por arma de fuego, explicando brevemente su mecanismo de producción y resaltando la problemática médico-legal que puede ocasionar.
Se revisan las normas establecidas para el tratamiento de las lesiones por arma de fuego con afectación craneocerebral, que han sido extrapoladas de la experiencia obtenida en los conflictos bélicos, fundamentalmente en la guerra de Vietnam.
Por último, se hace referencia a la incidencia de la epilepsia postraumática en este tipo de pacientes.
