Summary
Objective

The main objective of this work is to allow the anatomical localization of the vein of Trolard (VT) or great anastomotic vein, before neurosurgical appro-aches to the parietal región.

Material and Methods

Thirty four patients were subjected to cerebral angiography. Measurements of different points related to the anatomy of the vein were taken in 41 studies on the lateral projection. A statistical analysis was performed.

Conclusions

The measures obtained are of practical utility to locate the final portion of the vein of Trolard in its anastomotis to the sagital superior sinus (SLS) for planning neurosurgical approaches to the parietal región.
