Las técnicas de «smear» en el diagnóstico intraoperatorio de los tumores cerebrales

Resumen

La aplicación de las técnicas de «smear» al diagnóstico intraoperatorio de los tumores cerebrales es revisada, mostrándose las principales características de los tumores estudiados con este método. Consideramos que la técnica de «smear» ofrece numerosas ventajas, como son el necesitar sólo mínimos fragmentos de tejido y su extremada sencillez. Ello permite, incluso al neurocirujano mínimamente familiarizado con la neuropatología tumoral, poder distinguir entre tejido normal y patológico, y aventurar, con un alto índice de fiabilidad, la naturaleza exacta del tumor.
