A paraspinal mesenchymal chondrosarcoma arising from the L5 root sheath and mimicking a schwannoma, in a 26-year-old female, is presented. This locatíon is exceptional for a mesenchymal chondrosarcoma, what suggests the necessity of considering this rare tumor in the differential diagnosis of a presumed radio cular schwannoma.
Se describe el caso de un paciente de 26 años de edad, con un condrosarcoma mesenquimal que se originaba en la vaina de la raíz L5, y que simulaba el aspecto de un neurinoma típico. Esta localización para un condrosarcoma mesenquimal es excepcional y sugiere la necesidad de tener en cuenta este raro tumor cuando se deba establecer el diagnóstico diferencial de un supuesto neurinoma.
